Can informal team-leading experience count?
RPL can assess learning from work and life experience.
What does this mean for a new leader?
RPL can assess skills and knowledge developed through work and life experience, including informal leadership. You may have relevant learning without holding a formal team-leader title. The assessor still needs evidence that matches the unit requirements.
How can you prepare or compare?
Describe the work you personally performed and ask which permitted records or references could support it. Years of service alone do not prove every skill. Request the assessment process, cost and approach to gaps before deciding whether recognition is the right route for you.
What should you compare?
- Your starting point
- Written course conditions
- Questions still unanswered
What remains unconfirmed?
Your evidence, unit equivalence, recognition outcome and any gap-training costs need an individual provider assessment.
What can you do next?
Ask which evidence would show your own skills.
