What if my experience does not cover every skill?
RPL gaps may be addressed through further training.
What does this mean for a new leader?
An RPL assessment may find that some learning is demonstrated and some still needs development. Further evidence or training can address gaps, depending on the assessment decision. A gap is useful information about what remains to be shown or learned.
How can you prepare or compare?
Ask the assessor to describe the missing requirements clearly and propose the next steps. Find out the cost, expected time and evidence needed after any training. Keep the feedback so you can work toward a defined outcome without relying on a promised automatic award.
What should you compare?
- Your starting point
- Written course conditions
- Questions still unanswered
What remains unconfirmed?
Your evidence, unit equivalence, recognition outcome and any gap-training costs need an individual provider assessment.
What can you do next?
Discuss the remaining units with the assessor.
