What is in the Certificate IV?
BSB40520 · Current Release 4 · AQF level 4.
The Certificate IV in Leadership and Management supports developing and emerging leaders. Release 4 is dated 25 January 2022. The national package requires 12 units, with five core and seven electives.
Which five units are core?
- BSBLDR411 — Demonstrate leadership in the workplace
- BSBLDR413 — Lead effective workplace relationships
- BSBOPS402 — Coordinate business operational plans
- BSBXCM401 — Apply communication strategies in the workplace
- BSBXTW401 — Lead and facilitate a team
These five learning areas are compulsory. Ask how the provider’s module names match the national codes and where each practical requirement appears in the course.
How do the seven electives work?
Choose four electives from Group A. Select the other three from Groups A and B, with up to two unlisted suitable units at Certificate IV or above from a current endorsed training package qualification or accredited course.
Are there national entry requirements?
National entry requirements are nil. A provider can set admission or readiness checks for its own delivery. Discuss your study needs and practical access before enrolling.
How do you check the provider’s complete study plan?
Obtain all 12 unit codes, not just module names. Mark the five compulsory units, then identify the seven electives and how the Group A and Group B rules are met. Ask which activities demonstrate each core requirement and what support is available for a first-time student.
