What is the difference between Group A and Group B electives?
At least four electives must be from Group A.
What does this mean for a new leader?
Four of the seven electives must come from Group A. The other three can come from Groups A and B, with up to two suitable unlisted units at Certificate IV or above under the stated import rules. Group labels therefore matter when checking a proposed package.
How can you prepare or compare?
Ask the provider to label its chosen units by group and explain any imported choices. A list of seven appealing topics does not by itself show that the packaging rules are met. Also confirm which choices are fixed for your intake and whether any changes are available.
What should you compare?
- Your starting point
- Written course conditions
- Questions still unanswered
What remains unconfirmed?
The national options are checked. The provider elective selection, student choice and selected-unit assessment conditions are not known.
What can you do next?
Ask the provider to show the group for each elective.
