Does team leadership mean doing all the work myself?
The team unit includes assigning tasks and helping others succeed.
What does this mean for a new leader?
Leading a team does not mean doing every task yourself. BSBXTW401 includes allocating tasks, supporting others, gathering feedback and managing challenges on at least one occasion. The emphasis is on helping the team carry out the work.
How can you prepare or compare?
For an invented task, identify clear responsibilities and what support each person may need. Think about how progress will be checked without taking every task back. Ask the assessor how the course demonstrates the complete requirements in a safe workplace or simulated setting.
What should you compare?
- People and tasks involved
- Required plans, occasions and resources
- Provider support and practical access
What remains unconfirmed?
The national evidence requirement is checked; the provider task design, participants, tools and accepted evidence are not known.
What can you do next?
Practise a short task-allocation plan.
